Turrets and gun modifications

I'm currently working on a Nerf turret. Are gun modifications allowed in the turret (removal of triggers, directly wired flywheels, etc)? I'm not changing any springs, but leaving the guns as is will 8x the cost.

I'm more than happy to have it tested before allowing it into game.

Somewhat related: I'm stripping down a cheapie R/C helicopter to make use of its nerf launcher on an R/C car. Not changing anything internal to the firing device, but removing a lot of excess material from the exterior. Thoughts?
